Puppy Update

I didn't post anything for awhile because we got sad news. The creme baby we had purchased died at the age of 3 weeks. She was smothered by the mother accidentally while nursing! This has been several weeks ago and it was very sad, but we were left with options!

The good news is....without that happening, we could not have gotten our sweet little Penny. Penny is short for Penelope! We are calling her Penny Penelope, but it was suppose to just be Penelope and call her Penny for short! Did I confuse ya?

Penny was 3 weeks older than the previous pup we were due to get. Sadly, Penny's breeder died suddenly and was one of many puppies that needed to be placed by the original breeder I had purchased from.

Penny is not only older than the original puppy we were due to get, but....she is bigger! MUCH bigger. She arrived on April 5th and weighed in at 11.5 pounds! WOW! 1 week later, she weighed 13.5 pounds! That's 2 pounds in a WEEK! A WEEK! Oh boy!

Penny is sweet and lovable, but a little nippy at the moment. We are working on that part of training. We are working on "sit" "shake" and "down"! She has begun clicker training with these commands and is doing great!

The housebreaking....well, lets just remind ourselves she is only 9 weeks old! LOL We'll get there!

Anyhow, pictures to be uploaded soon! Check back to see her and see her progress!

6 Days Old

The Deposit has been made! It's official. Much to my friends' dismay, the newest addition of our family will be a Standard Poodle. She was born on February 26, 2007. Several weeks ago, I never would have believed I would own a POODLE.....but here I am, getting excited about having a pampered prissy poodle.

I originally had wanted a black or dark chocolate standard poodle. Then I found the silvers, and I thought those looked beautiful. I wanted something extraordinary or different. I don't tend to do anything the same as others. I like to stand out of the crowd. Then, in talking with breeders I had one of them finally open my eyes to the possibilities of light colored baby. I can dye it any color I want, and I can have it be a part of our clown act! SOLD! This little creme baby is going to be mine!
This sweet little thing isn't quite as prissy and primped right now, she is only 6 days old in this picture, but she will get to be as cute as can be by the time she comes to us. She is being shipped all the way from California! :))
We have been discussing names around our house. Dear hubby thought of Tricksee ....... pronounced Trixie. I liked it, but then our girls reminded us one of their best friends' dogs was named Trixie, so we can't name her that. All the kids have come up with names and I think we decided on Bella. Check back often as I'll update about new pictures when I get them and all about our preparation.
